Über das Kolloquium
Das Kolloquium "Design promoviert" bietet Promovierenden im Design und allen, die mit dem Gedanken an eine Promotion im Design spielen, eine Gelegenheit, ihr Forschungsthema unter Gleichgesinnten zur Diskussion zu stellen. Das Format ist offen für Vorstellungen früher Promotionsideen, Präsentationen zu Zwischenständen von Forschungsvorhaben oder auch Vorträge über erfolgreich abgeschlossene Promotionen. Nicht selten wird das Kolloquium auch als "Generalprobe" für die anstehende Disputation der Promotion genutzt. Neben Promovierenden im Design nehmen auch erfahrene Designforschende und Professor*innen regelmäßig an der Veranstaltung teil.
Das Kolloquium findet zweimal im Jahr an einem Hochschulstandort im deutschsprachigen Raum statt. Während die Veranstaltung im Herbst an die Jahreskonferenz der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Designtheorie und -forschung (DGTF) gekoppelt ist, findet das Kolloquium im Frühjahr als eigenständige Veranstaltung statt.

About the colloquium
The colloquium "Design promoviert" offers doctoral candidates in design and all those who are considering a doctorate in design an opportunity to present their research topic for discussion among like-minded people. The format is open to introductions of early doctoral ideas, presentations on interim statuses of research projects, or even talks on successfully completed doctorates. Not infrequently, the colloquium is also used as a "dress rehearsal" for the upcoming doctoral disputation. In addition to doctoral students in design, experienced design researchers and professors also regularly take part in the event.
The colloquium takes place twice a year at a university location in the German-speaking world. While the event in autumn is linked to the annual conference of the German Society for Design Theory and Research (DGTF), the colloquium in spring takes place as an independent event.
